Do you want to get closer, or are you afraid of being heard?
A woman living alone returns to her old home, only to find a travel agency next door.
She deliberately arranges for six strangers to become her neighbours, revisiting memories from a decade ago:
The walls remember all the sounds, including those left unspoken...
As the walls start to move and the space transforms, physical boundaries become fluid and psychological borders blur.
Is she changing the environment, or is the environment changing her?
Reality intertwines with dreams, and trauma coexists with healing.
As she becomes the neighbour's neighbour, is she searching for herself or becoming someone else?
The moment of reconciliation with oneself turns out to be just a wall away.
Building on her 2015 and 2020 works, 'Neighbouring', Blue Ka Wing presents a new production with a new cast and a new story after a decade of refinement. This original dance theatre production blends quirky humour with heartfelt confessions and a multiverse of physical forms — who has not been a neighbour to someone else? Gaze into urban solitude and seek redemption for those confined in partitioned units...
